The State Institute of languages was established in 1968 to promote Malayalam, the regional language of the State, so that it grows rapidly in richness and functional efficiency and becomes an effective means of communicating modern knowledge. The Institute has been working effectively to strengthen the communication among       various Indian Languages and it has become instrumental in helping to develop the Malayalam language as a means for bringing about emotional and social integration in the country. The institute has been publishing books on informatics literature to meet this objective since its formation.
